about

"I have always felt that honesty and sincerity lend greater currency to the creation of meaningful art than pretty much anything else. Not that skill, technique, innovation, historical awareness, craft etc don't bring value to the objects that we bear and consume, but, at the end of the day, to me at least, it is always about one heart to one other, and all that ensues from that groovy connection.

So - we present this to you from that space. No pretense and no pretending. We had no idea or intention to record this night and showed up without set lists or thoughts on pacing the "show." Thankfully, through Brad Walker's infinite passion to bring more depth and beauty to the world, this document was uncovered. Cindy and I didn't even know someone had pushed the big red button. The gig ended, we hugged our friends (remember that?) and went on our way.

It was over a year later when Brad wrote us an email and said we should check it out and possibly release it. Of course, being the obstinate QC guy that I am, my first reaction was "no way." But I have learned from many years of working closely with him, that when Brad says I should check something out, I shouldn't second guess him. So, thank you for finding this, man (and for everything else you do directly and indirectly in our precious community of creativity). And, thank you all dear fans, friends and sonic adventurers for sharing this special fleeting-but-not moment in time with us and for supporting us. Long live the SideBar, the undisputed champion and loving home of the New Orleans reaching-searching-stretching-surrenduring-conquering music community. Hopefully, even through the digits and the wires, one heart can still meet one other."

Peace * Love,
Brian Seeger
